Kerswell Sapphire
Mare.
Born in 1988,
30.5 inches, Blue Roan.
Studbook Number: 015810
Sire: New Park Chieftain
Dam: Kerswell Kate
This lovely Kerswell mare is now retired from breeding, and is living permanently with Rum of Brindister which seems to be an "ideal arrangement" for both of them!
Her famous sire is on our Gallery page.

Kerswell Rebecca
Mare.
Born in 1992,
31 inches, Palomino.
Studbook Number: AB0433
Sire: Tyros Storm of Lambridge
Dam: Kerswell Rosa
Becky had her last foal four years ago, on 31st January - not a good time! Also she had very little milk, and then stopped eating! Her colt foal, Byways Roulette was a real fighter though, and after numerous visits from the vet for either or both of them in his first week, he survived and has a super home "next door" to us, so we still see him a lot which is nice.
He was born liver chestnut and white, but turned blue roan and white after his sire Rum of Brindister.
Becky now has a lovely home as a companion on a small-holding also near us, so we see her often too.

Byways Autumn Bracken
Mare.
Born in 1984,
36 inches, Chestnut with white blaze, and flaxen mane and tail.
Studbook Number: 013696
Sire: Lakehead Melody Maker
Dam: North Wells Poppet
We sold Bracken when she was six years old to a lovely home, and then bought her back when she was eighteen to retire here. She is a very attractive looking mare, and has a really large eye, and is a lovely colour.
We have shown her lightly in Mixed Veteran classes and she has always been placed.

Byways Moon Magic
Mare.
Born in 1992,
39 inches, Black.
Studbook Number: AB0358
Sire: Perception of Netherley
Dam: Moon Moth of Hinton
We brought this much-loved daughter of Moth, who did so well showing for us when we lived on the Mainland, over to the Island with us as a yearling.
We showed her very successfully in Mixed Mountain and Moorland Youngstock classes here, and now she is on loan to a friend, who drives her very successfully, and Magic loves it.
Her dam is on our Gallery page.

Byways Merry Melody
Mare.
Born in 1992,
38 inches, Black.
Studbook Number: T/F
Sire: Perception of Netherley
Dam: Merry Molinia of Netherley
Midge, as she has always been known because she was such an outward going foal so Gordon called her the "Mighty Midget" !!
We bred her and Magic the same year, and brought both of them with us to the Island as yearlings.
We did sell her when she was six years old, and she was driven successfully then, but she has been back with us for nearly two years now, and we are very pleased to have her back.

Eiger Jemma

Filly
Born in 2007
31 inches, Bay
Stud-Book Number AT2730
Sire:Goodworth Bertie AH1994
Dam: Eiger Co-C0 AK1920
Jemma is a lovely three year old filly who has been shown successfully.  She has a wonderful temperament, and is easy to catch, box, and to handle in all ways, so is a pleasure to own. She has been wormed regularly, feet trimmed, and is anti-tetanus vaccinated.

She is now For Sale as we are not breeding any more, so she will be wasted with us as she has top blood-lines,  Mainly Kerswell, with her Grand-sire being Kerswell Magnet, a multi-Championship winner, and he is a son of New Park Cheiftain, so she should produce some fabulous foals in the future.

Tawna Moonbeam

Filly
Born in 2007
29 inches, piebald
Stud Book Number: AT2011
Sire: Kerswell Nutcracker AM1691
Dam: Tawna Morwenna AK1535

Tawna Moonbeam has been shown successfully.  She has a lovely temperament, and is easy to catch, box, and to handle in all ways.
She has been wormed regularly, feet trimmed, and is anti –tetanus vaccinated.
Carole Pearce and I own her between us, and we bought her to breed from, but as we have both now given up breeding, she is too good to keep here, as with her wonderful bloodlines (Kerswell / Tawna), and being only 30” now, she should breed some wonderful quality foals in the future, so she is now sadly For Sale.

Rosebriar Poppy

Filly
Born in 2008
Stud Book Number AU2300
Sire Byways Muskit AN1773
Dam: Byways Pipkin AK1710

Poppy was shown as a yearling with great success, achieving a Res. Jun. Championship, and several First places.  We hope to show her again this season when we can.  She is definitely blue roan, and with her abundance of hair will hopefully look striking when she has her summer coat.

Merrylees Sugarbabe

Filly
Born in 2009, piebald.
Stud-Book Number AW 1246
Sire: Merrylees Ringmaster AP 1583
Dam: Kington Tule AD 2120

Sugar Babe is now 30 inches. She has a lovely temperament, good conformation and is beautifully marked, with top blood-lines.
We bought her to show, but as we have very nearly given up showing now, she has gone on full loan to Pam Blake (Blakevalley Shetlands), and they will produce her in the show ring next year.

Rosebriar Rosalee

Filly
Born in 2009, blue roan
Stud-Book Number AW 2798
Sire: Kerswell Cavalier AE 2293
Dam: Kerswell Roselle AR 2011

Rosalee has grown on very well, and is a real character like her Dam, Kerswell Roselle, being very inquisitive, and with lots of presence.  We hope to show her next year now, as we have not had the opportunity to take her out yet, but we feel she should do well.

We are not breeding any more foals in the future as neither Gordon or I are in very good health now.  We still hope to go to some shows which are not too far away this season, showing our young fillies, and will see how we get on.
